The villa is in the heart of Tuscany, close to the medieval village of Montecatini Alto. The valley extends from the city of Lucca to Florence including within it and on its hills, typical Tuscan landscape, with many medieval places and villages, renaissance art and landscape as well as spas. The climate is always milder than other areas of the Tuscan countryside, due to the influence of the sea just forty km away. This location is pleasant and relaxing as well as very close to all of the most desirable and interesting tourist destinations: Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, Forte dei Marmi, Vinci. This valley is an original mix of famous thermal resorts, intact nature and ancient medieval villages. This is the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Lucca and, for centuries, was a crossroads for culture, trade and meetings. Her hills conceal villages and castles that from the “Swiss Pesciatina” stretch out until Vinci where the genius of Leonardo da Vinci was born. Versilia Club Beaches as well as Chianti most famous wineries and historical gardens are within one hour of reach. From the chestnut woods, passing through the landscape scattered with olives trees, we reach the valley where the precious waters of Montecatini Terme and the steam of Monsummano Terme’s grottos are born, and where the natural reserve of Padule di Fucecchio extends. This is also homeland to Pinocchio, the most famous puppet in the world. There are several remarkable minor towns in the area like Montecatini Alto, Pistoia and Prato with its famous museum Pecci. Several interesting contemporary gardens as well as some of the most incredible private villas of the world are just minutes away. There are several tennis courts sparse on the territory. A golf club is less than ten minutes away from the SPA of Grotta Giusti. Previous visitors of this area include Rossini, Verdi, Princess Grace, Orson Welles, Clark Gable; Verdi was particularly taken, searching for eternal youth each year for 25 years.

Florence is an open-air exhibit of art and culture. It is known worldwide as the heart of the Renaissance, and the home of fine art and literature. Today, the essence of Florence could safely be said to exist in the city’s constantly restored art and architecture, their appearance and functionality altered only by their numbers in years - signature examples include Fillippo Brunelleschi’s Duomo and Michelangelo’s timeless statue of David, arguably the most recognisable and widely known image of western culture to date. The romantic Ponte Vecchio, one of Europe’s last fully stone bridges, or even Giotto’s bell tower, give Florence the notoriety it deserves. Florence is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its overflow of palaces, churches and museums filled with masterful paintings and sculptures. Part of the city’s success is also due to the Tuscan land that Florence is situated in, one that naturally lends itself to producing high quality wine (Chianti Classico), extra-virgin olive oil, specialty cheeses, and delicacies like truffles and mushrooms (porcini and ovulo, otherwise known as Caesar’s mushroom), considered to be some of the best in the world. Over the years Florence has developed a thriving restaurant scene, known both in Italy and abroad, for the quality of their chefs and for the use of high quality products. Good service and good food, above all at the renowned Enoteca Pinchiorri, can be found in spectacular locations from prestigious palaces to tiny, hidden piazzas. Every palazzo, church, monument and city-street contributes to this atmosphere, and walking around the centre is like visiting an open-air museum.

Blessed with beauty, wine and an unparalleled artistic legacy, Tuscany’s a region that largely lives up to its fame. Its fabled rolling landscape has long been considered the embodiment of rural chic, a favourite of foodies and wine lovers, while its cities harbour a significant slice of the world’s Renaissance art. Florence in itself, boasts more world-class art than many entire Countries. Famous for its hills outlined by endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, thermal spa towns, tiny medieval villages surrounded by olive groves, this is an idyllic region that also features gorgeous emerald green seaside (Maremma and Argentario) as well as dramatic mountains, all in a very concentrated space. From the fashionable Mediterranean coast to the marble mountains of Carrara, often both visible from one same position, the chestnut forests of the Apennines, the Natural parks with lakes, canyons, thermal springs and grottoes, the luxuriant gardens of the Renaissance villas, olive groves and vines, Tuscany is a fantastic place to visit all year round.
